Naomi continues to entertain
First, let me just say a big thank you to uncle Nick who made some updates to the website recently. It looks great! So, at last report Naomi had an ear infection, but that is all cleared up now. She did have a possible drug rash from the amoxicillan, but it is not technically an allergic reaction, so that is good. They may just avoid that drug if possible. Fun stuff, Naomi has learned to knock. It is so funny. She stands at the window and knocks at the squirrels and birds. She loves squirrels by the way. She likes the birds, but I think the squirrels are easier to see and a l ... more
A first time for everything...
Well, little Naomi is 15 months old already, well really 15 months and 9 days. She is getting to be a big girl, and her visit to the dr. today confirms that. She is 32 1/4 inches tall (95%), and 24lbs 8.5 oz (75%). She is slimming down according to the charts, but still has her tummy. Developmentally she is about 18 months, so doing very well. The worst news today was that she has her first ear infection, boo. Poor thing has been off this week, but is also working on pushing a molar out, so we just thought it was teething. She wasn't even bothering her ear much. I have taken her i ... more
So much to talk about since our last post
Wow, mid February already, where did the time go???? Well, so much has changed since the end of December I'm sure I won't remember it all. First, Naomi definitely has a running gait now. She mostly uses it going after Murrey, or Amber at the grandparents house. It is the cutest! Sometimes she walks around with her head and chest up and puffed out and clomps her feet, that is just funny. Sometimes she also likes to "fly" as I call it: leans forward a little and puts her arms out behind her. She likes her dress shoes now and likes to bring them to us to put on her, and just this week ... more
Reminiscing about 2010
Wow, 2010 is nearly over. So many things have happened this year in Naomi's life. Never a dull moment that is for sure. Well, I never posted about her 1 year dr appointment, so here is her info: 22 lbs, 10.5 oz; 31 inches long. She is still in the 95% for height and about 80-85% for weight. Her devolpment was 13-14 months. Some other things that I missed posting about: For about a week or maybe 2, Naomi was saying "uh-oh" when she would drop something or fall down. She went through a stage of shrugging her shoulders all the time. It was so funny when she did it when you asked ... more
Naomi had her first birthday
Naomi's Bday party was a lot of fun, with lots of family and friends. Naomi wasn't sure what to do with the cake and when we stuck her fingers in it she got really upset. So, we gave her a little and then moved on. She loved opening presents, but wanted to play with what she got and it was difficult to move on to the next thing. On her actual birthday, we went out to dinner and Naomi has meatloaf, eggs, fruit and bread for dinner, and then tried bread pudding for dessert. Yummy! She is loving sitting in our laps and looking at books. All of her different toys that play music are a ... more
I've given you some time to read the last post, but now I have more to write.
Naomi is getting much better at giving hugs to people. Kisses are still hit and miss, but oh so cute. She is also figuring out how to give a "High Five." We work on stretching in the mornings, but I usually have to do it first and say streeeeetch, then she puts her arms up over her head and stretches too. Let's see, her fifth tooth came in about a week ago. Dad actually discovered it! She still loves putting things in and taking them out, and pushing anything around. She is also very attached to her stuffed animals, especially the Build-a-Bear that Mommy and Daddy made for her and ... more
Lots to talk about
Well, it probably wouldn't be so hard if I posted more often, but just when I think I have some time, it is gone! Wow, Naomi is changing so much, and is such a smart cookie, if I do say so myself. Anywho, right after the last post we had some BIG event weekends. We went to Rombach's pumpkin patch with some fam and had a nice couple of hours. Naomi went on her first pony ride and did great! She also picked out her own pumpkin, though we did have to narrow it down to two for her. Sunday she went to a wedding and went on her first carriage ride. I think she really enjoyed that too ... more
Updates on Naomi
The headline is the most difficult thing it seems, with this posting and with Naomi. She is a walker now. She took her first steps about 6 weeks ago, and nearly 2 weeks ago she decided she really didn't need to crawl anymore. Maybe once in a while. She is the cutest thing walking around! Let's see, she also has a second tooth, came in the same day she decided she didn't need to crawl. It is moving up so fast it is nearly the same size as the first one that came in 2 months earlier! She is eating a lot more table food now, and cheese is definitely a favorite. She is still a big ... more
Naomi is walking now
How is it that time moves so quickly!? Well, 3 weeks have passed, and still no new teeth. But, she is moving around so much more. She is walking pretty well now. The most steps CJ and I have seen is about 13, but my mom said Naomi took 31 steps one evening. Her object: the dog. I just don't think Murrey will stay still long enough for her to take that many steps all at once. She has a new toy that I finally brought out. It has activity items and can lay flat on the floor, or it can be folded out so that she can stand up behind it and push it around. She is loving it! I will ha ... more
It's confirmed: Naomi's still growing!
We just arrived home from the doctor, where we enjoyed a well visit with NO shots! Naomi is doing great. She has slowed down just a little bit in height and weight, but still well above average in the 80-85% for both. She is 28 1/2 inches tall and 20lbs 10.5 oz. She still technically fits in the baby carrier!! Her head is getting bigger (from everyone telling her how cute and adorable she is) and closer to average, about 35-45%. We also now have a green light to really start on the table foods. I'm sure she will love it! Oh, and physical development-wise, she is 12-13 mont ... more
