CJ, Mary, and the Girls Make a Surprise Visit to Arkansas and Celebrate 2 Birthdays!
I had decided to take some time off work around my birthday a few months prior to that week. With a few weeks leading up to my birthday and getting a chance to visit my Uncle Jeff and Aunt Carrie in St. Louis. I thought to myself, I don't think I have ever celebrated my birthday with my Uncle Jeff. You see, My Uncle Jeff and I share the same birthday on February 21st. So I thought, wouldn't it be neat to go down and drive to Cabot, Arkansas for a visit. Mary was in agreement of the idea and thought our girls could probably handle a 6 hour drive trip. I mean, we did survive a 12 hour ... more
Daddy & Naomi Hangout together to See Some Cool Animals
I took Naomi to Lone Elk State Park & the Wild Bird Sanctuary for the 1st time! Even though the temperatures were quite cold, that didn't stop us from going out to have her check out some neat animals up close! We first stopped at the Wild Bird Sanctuary where Naomi got to see, up close a bald eagle. I explained to Naomi that the bird was here because it was hurt and people are taking good care of the bird so he can go back home. We saw some more animals too in the gift shop such as a owls, bunnies, parrots, and her favorite, Snakes :) For some reason she liked them...Who knew! ... more

A Picture of CJ Found in 2 Brochures for Events 2 Days Apart!
I was pleasantly surprised to find a picture of myself in a brochure and in a news media event announcement for 2 separate events. First, for the last 5 years, I've participated in an event called the JCC (Jewish Community Center) Indoor Triathlon. A brochure for the event went out a few months before the event and I found a picture of myself in the brochure from participating the previous year! My friend Kayla also was in the brochure as well! Here is a link to the brochure, see if you can find me :) http://www.jccstl.com/images/uploads/file/Indoor_Triathlon_2013.pdf Second, ... more
CJ Competes in his 5th Indoor Triathlon
I competed in the 9th annual Jewish Community Center (JCC) Indoor Triathlon this year. This is my 5th year in a row participating in this event. I was joined by my good friend Kayla and also co worker Katrina. I did better overall than last year so I was pretty excited about that! Here were my stats from last year and this year: Swim Bike Run Total 2012: 7:56 17:52 24:08 53:33 2013: 7:59 16:05 22:12 52:18 Lately this event has been the kickoff as I begin preparing fo ... more
Naomi acts out the story
I'm not exactly sure when the princess obsession began, but I know it was before her birthday. But, it is definitely in full swing. And, as people tend to imitate those they like, so too does Naomi. So, in the last few days I have heard Naomi say "Leave me alone" when she is angry and then run off. Oh my, I'm thinking, she isn't even a teenager, what will life be like then. But, I realized today that there is a scene in The Beauty and The Beast movie, which she saw just a few days ago, in which Belle says the same thing. What relief. I also noticed a while back Naomi saying "Oh, how lovel ... more
For the 2nd year in a row, Naomi got a chance to go out to Chuck E Cheese with her friend Ellie. Both girls were much more into the games and eating pizza. Although, Naomi had seemed to grow a great fear for Chuck E Cheese. She was not at all interested in being around him and was quite afraid of him. I told Chuck E not to feel too bad (although I'm sure Naomi isn't the first kid to be afraid of him). Naomi is also not too found of Santa Clause either. Thought we'd share some pictures from our time there with you all. Thanks for Reeding more
Naomi's 1st Children's Christmas Program
Naomi starred in her first ever Children's Christmas Program! When she turned 3 at the end of November, we began to put her in the Sunday School program at our church. On her first day, they were working on singing songs for the Christmas Program. After her first meeting, the teachers suggested to put Naomi in the Christmas program. We were actually hesitant to do so since Naomi hasn't been really introduced to a classroom type setup before. We told the teachers we would think about it and a week later we put her in Sunday School again and the teachers said they really thought Naomi ... more
Our Christmas Card Pictures
Hey Everyone! We went over to my in-laws house to take pictures of our family for our Christmas Card. This year we had a lot of fun with Phoebe added to our family. In last year's Christmas Card, we put a picture of her ultrasound and it served as our announcement card as well that we were having another baby :) We took a bunch of pictures of us all together, individually, the girls, together, each of us individually with one of the kids, and of course just Mary and I :) Some of the pics are candid and just had to share all of the pictures that were taken with you all! We also ... more
In the Time of Phoebe
It is hard to imagine, 6 months, half a year, no matter which way you look at it, our little girl Phoebe is growing up so fast! Seems time is going faster than when we just had Naomi in our lives. Phoebe's development in these 6 months have been incredible (but also more challenging). We are first so very blessed she has been very healthy and we don't take that for granted! When she was younger she did have trouble holding down her milk but now she has no problems eating and has already started eating rice cereal! I like to call Phoebe my "little trouble maker" as she tends to be ... more
