Welcome Joanna Elizabeth!
Announcing Joanna Elizabeth! Born on August 24th @ 2:30 am. She weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 20 3/4" in length. Her arrival was quite a story and things didn't exactly go as planned. August 23rd - 6pm: Mary's contractions were started to really come closer apart and stronger, the midwife was called for advice and we were told she needed to rest as much as possible as things could continue into the night and would need her rest and strength. August 23rd - 8pm: Mary and I had a late dinner and she continues to rest while contractions grow stronger August 24th - 1:30am: ... more
Phoebe finishes her first 5k. Naomi finishes her 2nd
Naomi, Phoebe, and Daddy participated in a 5k race called "A Race to Remember" that was sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association. Back in the Spring when looking for a 5K to participate in, we came across hearing about this race which seemed a great fit. First, I wanted to participate because my Grandma (aka Grandma the Great) had passed away in January after suffering from dementia for a number of years and wanted to run in this race in honor of her. For Naomi, it was another chance to do another race at age 8 (this time in weather above 32 degrees). To my surprise, Phoebe who turned ... more
Phoebe Builds Another Year Turning 5.
Happy Birthday Phoebe! Our 2nd daughter has turned 5. We had a great day to celebrate. I took off work and we first went to Denny's for breakfast. Then we headed to a place called The Myseum. For those in St. Louis, it's kind of like a mix between the St. Louis Science Center and the Magic House as I would best describe it located in Town and Country in St. Louis county. All of our girls had fun building things, making music made of recycled material, going down slides, and even digging for dinos! After heading home for lunch and nap for Rachel, we had an early dinner at Buffalo ... more
Celebrating Another Birthday
Our Rachel Girls is officially 2! We had a great day as Dad took off work to spend more time with Rachel. We went to BWW for a late lunch, followed up a fun day at the park. We next finished with having Smoothie King for our evening treat! Check out this video to see some flashback photos of Rachel's life thus far. She brings so much laughter to our family! more
Naomi & Phoebe Paint for their Future Christmas Presents
A family tradition, I've taken Naomi and Phoebe to a place called The Painting Spot, where they pick out their choice of available pottery and then paint them. This year, Naomi picks a unicorn and Phoebe a pegasus. Once they are finished painting, they will stay at the store and will be glazed. Once glazed, I pick them up from the store and wrap them for their Christmas presents and they see them on Christmas morning! Next year, we will be planning to take Rachel with us! Thanks for Reeding. more
Naomi & Phoebe Spend a Great Day Outdoors
I had the great opportunity to join my long time friend Brian and his son to his family's property in Shamrock, MO. The property has 33 acres of land which includes a 3 acre lake and a small pond. Brian provided us with extra fishing poles for us (now the kids want their own) to go fishing. Using hot dogs for bait, the kids had the first bites with Phoebe and Brian's son catching some blue gills. Then Naomi gets a large mouth bass! We later had lunch and then Brian took the girls and I into a boat and rowed around the lake which we all enjoyed. To finish things off, we took on the ... more
Naomi completes her Minnow Level Swim Program
Naomi has completed her 6 swim lessons in the Minnow Level at our local YMCA. Her swimming has dramatically improved after completing these lessons. She was introduced to breaststroke, some stroke improvement of freestyle and back stoke and diving skills. She was also introduced to butterfly skills as well! In addition, she focused a bit on foundation skills such as streamline positioning, a continuation of rotary breathing and further refinement of arm and kicking actions. Check out the video of her completing a lap in the pool! I'm 1/3 the way on getting her to be a triathlete ... more
CJ honored for 15 year service award at McCarthy
McCarthy had their Fall Seminar held at the Anheuser-Busch Tour Center in downtown St. Louis this year. McCarthy provides a company update and hands out service awards for employees based on every 5 years of service. This year, I was honored with my 15 year service award with McCarthy! Hard to believe that much time has gone by since starting at the age of 21 as just a part time employee and attending UMSL. I have now held 5 different positions in the past 15 years! I'm currently enjoying my current role as IT Training Manager. Big thanks to all my family for all their support thr ... more
